FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who can run a scan?

Only people with an AorTag account. Before each scan you confirm that you own the website, or that you are authorised to test it. Your account terms, with the time and the browser you accepted them in, are kept on record.

Can I scan a website I do not own?

No. AorTag is for websites you own or are authorised to test. Scans of websites you have no right to test break our account terms, and we can stop them and remove the account.

What does the free plan include?

One site, up to 25 pages per scan, 100 scans a month plus one scheduled scan a week, one user, seven days of history, and a data export. Each scan still needs the declaration above. One website can belong to one account: a second account that declares the same website is held until we confirm it.

Does AorTag change my website?

No. AorTag loads your pages in a browser and records what they send. It does not submit forms, log in with your details, or change your tags or your tag manager.

What does the scanner look like to my web server?

It identifies itself with the user-agent AorTag-Scanner and respects robots.txt, including crawl-delay. If you want it to stop, or to slow down, tell us, and see the scanner page for the address we contact.

Do you verify that I own a website by DNS or a file?

No. We rely on your declaration and the account terms, not on proof of ownership through DNS records or a file on your server.

How long do you keep scan results?

It depends on your plan: seven days on the free plan, ninety days on Pro and a year on Business. You can download your data at any time from Settings.

Can I see who on AorTag support acted on my account?

Yes. Settings shows every action on your account. Support actions show a role and a reference. You can ask for the name behind any support action, and each request is recorded.
